PVAMU Chief of Police Jemison is the Men’s Breakfast speaker at St. Francis


Dr. Keith Jemison is the Men’s Breakfast speaker on December 16, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church, at 8:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall of the Church on 204 Dooley Street. Dr. Jemison is the Chief of Police at Prairie View A&M University, a position he has held since July 2017. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he previously served as Assistant Police Chief with the Missouri City Police Department (MCPD) since 2011. Prior to this, he served as the Chief of Police of the Montgomery ISD. During his tenure at MCPD, he was in command of the Police Administration Bureau which includes the Support Services Division and the administrative Services Division both headed by a Captain. The Support Services Division consisted of Records, Crime Analysis, Dispatch, Facilities and the joint Missouri City and Sugar Land radio system. The Administrative Services Division consisted of Budget, Professional Standards & Internal Affairs, Training & Professional Development, Grant Management, Accreditation & Recognition, Crime Prevention & Community Programs, as well as Recruiting, Hiring and Background Investigations, and Code Enforcement. Chief Jemison holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia College of Missouri with Cum Laude honors, a Master's degree in Political and Justice Studies from Governor's State University, and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Interdisciplinary Leadership with a concentration in Public Safety from Governor's State University as well. Chief Jemison holds a Master Peace Officer certification through the state of Texas and is a graduate of the Senor Management Institute for Police (SMIP) at the Police Executive Research Forum, the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, the FBI Regional Command College, Penn State University's Police Executive Development (POLEX), the FBI LEEDA Executive Management Trilogy and the Harvard University's Senior Leaders in State and Local Government program. He also holds several instructor level certifications including, Firearms Instructor, Crisis Intervention Instructor, FBI Instructor, General Police Instructor, and is a certified Police Forensic Investigative Hypnotist. In addition to having been an Adjunct Professor for several local colleges and universities and teaching at police academies. Chief Jemison is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBILEEDA), the Texas Police Chiefs Association (TPCA), the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, the SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society, and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). In addition to these memberships, Chief Jemison serves on the training advisory board of the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy and has served as a keynote speaker at various events. Dr. Jemison is a widower with five children and resides in Houston.
