Fuller to speak at Men's Breakfast on September 21, 2019.
Dr. John H. Fuller, Professor of Electrical Engineering in the Roy G. Perry College of Engineering at Prairie view A&M University is the speaker for the Men's Prayer Breakfast on September 19, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church at 8:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall of the church at 200 Phillip and 204 Dooley Streets, Prairie View. The free breakfast is open to the men of the community, who are asked to reserve a seat and confirm their attendance at 936-857-3272 or email: stfrancispv@sbcglobal.net.

Dr. Fuller is a native of Hempstead, Texas and a graduate of Sam Swartz High School. After high school, he matriculated to Prairie View A&M University where he earned the Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He later studied at the University of Missouri-Columbia where he earned the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. His dissertation: “Breakdown Insulation Level and Field Mapping.” Objective of research was the prediction of flashover on high voltage transmission lines.
Following his graduation from Prairie View A&M University, Dr. Fuller pursued a career as Engineer with the Bendix Corporation in Kansas City, Missouri. He was also a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Missouri while pursuing the advanced degrees. Upon graduation from Missiouri in 1997, he joined faculty of Prairie View faculty as an Associate Professor and was promoted to Professor in 1996. At Prairie View A&M University, Dr. Fuller has served as Head of the Electrical Engineering Department (1977-1995), Interim Dean of the College of Engineering (1995-1997) and the Interim Head of Civil Engineering (January-July 2004). He also served as Engineering Consultant for Bell Telephone Laboratories, Holmdel, New Jersey in the Summer 1981.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Fuller's research interests include Design of digitals systems, the stand along digital systems for control and applications; Power systems and power system losses; Microprocessor Control; Nuclear Sensors and Detector Applications. Some of his non-academic research includes "Black Cowboys of Texas”, Chapter titled Ben Kinchlow: A Trail Driver on the Chisholm Trail;
“Black Warriors of the Southwest”, Center for Big Bend Studies Annual publication presented at Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas; and a book entitled “Air Pollution and Small Engines Emission" for the Department of Energy publication in conjunction with Sam Massie Chair environmental research.

Some of his professional achievement and publications are the Environmental research with emphasis on small internal combustion engine emission funded by Department of Energy (1995-2005); White House Initiative Award for Excellence in Science and Technology, U S Department of Education (1988), Project Based Learning for a Digital Circuits Design Sequence at HBCUs (Dr. John Fuller and Dr. James Northern - ASEE annual conference in Honolulu, Hawaii (2007) and “Radiation Effects on Non-Volatile Memories,” NASA Office of Logic Design (J. Fuller and P. Obiomon at the MAPLD International Conference, Washington, D.C. - 2006).

Dr. Fuller is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Praiire View. He and his wife Cheryl, have 4 daughters and seven wonderful grandchildren. He enjoys gardening, ranching and trail-riding.

St. Francis of Assisi will also host the Houston Foodbank/Kraft Mobile Food distribution at the church on 200 Phillip and 204 Dooley Streets on Thursday, September 19, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The free fruits and vegetables distribution is available to anyone in need in Waller County Area. No qualifications required. Patrons are asked to bring bags, boxes or carts to carry the food items. Persons will be also able to sign up for other social services, i.e. SNAPS.

Members of the community are also invited to attend the weekly Bible Study on Sundays at 9:30 a.m., followed by worship service at 11:00 a.m.
