Bryant to speak at Men's Breakfast on January 19, 2019.
Braun Bryant is the Postmaster for the United States Post Office in Prairie View, is the Men's Breakfast speaker on January 19 at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church at 8:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall of the church at 204 Dooley Street, Prairie View. The free breakfast is open to the men of the community, who are asked to reserve a seat and confirm their attendance at 936-857-3272 or email: stfrancispv@sbcglobal.net.
Bryant became the first African American male Postmaster for Prairie View in spring 2018. He is a native Houstonian and is a graduate of James Madison High School and earned an Associate Degree in Business from the University of Houston. He is a Licensed Worker's Comp Adjuster and a Licensed Real Estate Agent. Prior to joining the Postal Service, Mr. Bryant worked as a Worker's Compensation Insurance Adjuster for The
University of Texas. In this position he was responsible for ensuring that the employee’s rights were protected, and that the employee received appropriate and adequate compensation for claims against the company’s insurance.

Mr. Bryant has more than twenty-seven years of service with the United States Postal Service. He began his employment with the Post Office in 1997, and over the years has served as a Postal Supervisor and a Manager at various stations throughout the Houston District from east to west and north to south, and whatever area in between that need his service.

Mr. Bryant is what you would call a patriotic servant for his country moving from the ranks of officer to veteran and civilian employee. He gallantly served some twenty years serving his country with the United States Navy – four active duty and sixteen in the reserve. His commitment to preserving freedom around the world found him among the naval forces who served in Operation Iraqi/Enduring Freedom from 2010-2011. During his service in the Navy, he was awarded several honors and recognition to include the Global War on Terrorism Award and Navy Achievement Medal.
Aside from his professional position, Mr. Bryant finds time to give back to the youth and adults of the community through personal, spiritual and professional development. He has served as an Adult Sunday School leader at Real Life Church, Houston and member of the Cy-Fair Minority Parent Association, addressing issues of equity and equality in education for the children of the district.
Mr. Bryant is married and is the proud father of five children and two precious grandchildren.
